March 29, 2019Understanding the Difference Between Water Repellent and Waterproof
July 18, 2020Your pencil case needs to be packed and organized well so you can make the most out of your learning at school. The right pencil case will make it easier to pack your writing tools. Throughout the semester, you’ll always know where to find the tools you need quickly. Learn optimally at school and achieve success!
Packing Your Pencil Case:
- Start with the Essentials: Every year, students need to bring the same writing tools to school every day. While some classes may require specific writing tools, you should be familiar with the basic writing tools to be neatly arranged in your pencil case. Here are some essential writing tools for school:
- Two pencils
- One red ink pen, one blue ink pen, and one black ink pen.
- Pencil sharpener
- Protractor
- Scissors (12.5 cm)
- Eraser
- Glue stick
- Highlighter pen (or Stabilo)
- Calculator
- Ruler (doesn’t have to be too long!)
- Organize Writing Tools: Arrange writing tools from the largest to the smallest size. Place items that take up more space at the bottom of the pencil case, such as the calculator, scissors, or protractor, to create a foundation for smaller items like pencils, pens, or erasers. Your pencil case will be neater, and items inside it will be easier to grab. Replace faded highlighters.
- Utilize Zippered Pockets: If your pencil case has a zipper, tilt the case sideways so that the zipper side faces right or left. This makes it easier to pack your equipment, and the space inside the pencil case is better utilized.
- Save Space for Additional Tools: Primary school students usually use colored pencils, crayons, and colored markers. To save space, select the most frequently used colors, and bundle them with a rubber band before placing them in the pencil case. Middle and high school students may need post-it notes. Put post-it notes in a small ziplock bag. Ensure no torn or creased papers inside the pencil case. Replace short glue sticks and erasers.
- Easy Access and Maintenance: Insert and remove your tools as needed. Since you’ve started with the essential tools, adding more items won’t be too difficult. If you add soft items, place them in a container before putting them in the pencil case. Clean and rearrange your pencil case regularly. Clean your pencil case every month to keep it easy to use at school. As the school semester progresses, pencil shavings and notes may fill your pencil case. Dispose of unnecessary items and replace them with new ones.
- Discard Broken Pencils or Crayons: Get rid of broken pencils or crayons for a clutter-free pencil case.
